Awarapan 2 vs Batwara 1947 Day 1 Box Office: Emraan Hashmi’s Film Leads Big
The much-awaited box-office clash between Awarapan 2 and Batwara 1947 has begun, with Emraan Hashmi’s film gaining a decisive edge on the opening day. Both releases hit theatres simultaneously and secured thousands of shows, but their first-day earnings showed a wide gap.
Awarapan 2 Opens With ₹21 Crore
Emraan Hashmi-starrer Awarapan 2 recorded an India net collection of ₹21 crore on Day 1 from 9,033 shows. Its India gross stood at around ₹25.20 crore.
The film added another ₹2 crore from overseas markets, taking its worldwide gross collection to approximately ₹27.20 crore on its opening day.
The strong start has given the sequel a significant advantage in the early box-office battle.
Batwara 1947 Collects ₹5.75 Crore
Batwara 1947, featuring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta, had a much slower opening. The film earned around ₹5.75 crore net in India from 8,721 shows.
Its India gross collection stood at approximately ₹6.84 crore, while overseas markets contributed another ₹1.50 crore.
This took the film’s worldwide gross to around ₹8.34 crore on Day 1.
Awarapan 2 Takes a Commanding Lead
The opening-day figures put Awarapan 2 firmly ahead of Batwara 1947. In India alone, the difference between the two films stood at ₹15.25 crore.
The worldwide gap was even more pronounced. Awarapan 2’s ₹27.20 crore gross was more than three times Batwara 1947’s ₹8.34 crore.
However, the first-day numbers are only the beginning. Weekend growth, audience response and weekday hold will ultimately determine how both films perform at the box office.
Weekend Holds the Key
Awarapan 2 has clearly won the opening-day battle and enters the weekend with strong momentum. Batwara 1947, meanwhile, will need a significant jump in collections to reduce the gap.
The next few days will determine whether Awarapan 2 can maintain its lead or whether Batwara 1947 manages to stage a recovery at the box office.
