“Badshah Admits Rs 12.45 Crore Rolls-Royce Cullinan Was an Impulse Buy: ‘The Excitement Didn’t Last’”
Badshah Calls His Rs 12.45 Crore Rolls-Royce Cullinan an Impulse Buy: ‘The Excitement Was Over in 10 Minutes’
Last year, rapper Badshah became the first India-born musician to own a Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II, joining an ultra-exclusive club with Mukesh Ambani, Shah Rukh Khan, and Ajay Devgn. But in a recent conversation, he admitted the ₹12.45 crore luxury SUV was more an impulsive thrill than a long-term passion.
A Momentary High
Speaking to Curly Tales, Badshah said the purchase was made on a whim.
“I think buying the car was very impulsive. Jaldi se decide kar liya ki aaj lena hai,” he shared. “The excitement lasted barely 10–15 minutes, and then you’re like, what next?”
For him, the Cullinan was less about lasting gratification and more about ticking off a bucket-list moment.
Always Chasing the Best
Badshah explained his mindset behind luxury buys: he likes to own the best technology and experiences.
“Mera mann karta hai ki jo bhi best hai technologically wo mere paas ho,” he said, adding that even the most extravagant purchases offer only fleeting satisfaction.
People Come First
Despite his love for luxury, Badshah prioritizes relationships over possessions.
“If a good friend crashes my car, I’ll first check if he’s okay. Only then will the car matter,” he said.
He also joked about his expensive watches: “I don’t tell my parents the real cost. I don’t think they would even believe a watch can cost this much.”
From Engineer to Icon
Before fame, Badshah worked as a civil engineer. At 23, he asked a retiring IAS officer a defining question:
“When a businessman drives a Mercedes, it’s called hard work. When a government officer does, he’s called a thief.”
The officer’s response — that the car’s value depends on what it represents in your life — shaped Badshah’s perspective on wealth, perception, and intention.
