The legal troubles of Gyan Bindu Coaching director Roshan Anand deepened on Tuesday.

After a Patna civil court rejected his bail plea in connection with the ongoing dispute involving coaching institutes in the state capital.

The court pronounced its order after reserving judgment a day earlier following arguments from both the prosecution and the defence. With the plea dismissed, Anand will continue to remain in judicial custody as the investigation progresses.

The decision has triggered fresh reactions among students and supporters, many of whom have rallied behind the coaching director since his arrest. Several student groups have now announced an “Aakrosh March” (anger march) in Patna, demanding his release and alleging that he has been unfairly implicated in the case.

The controversy stems from an incident at Khan Global Studies, the coaching institute run by educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir. According to police, a group of individuals allegedly vandalised the institute’s premises and hurled stones at the building on the night of June 2, causing damage to property. Investigators later arrested Anand in connection with the case.

The matter gained significant attention across Bihar’s coaching community, with students and educators closely following developments. The probe took another turn when police detained two security personnel associated with Khan Global Studies over allegations of firing shots during the incident.

Authorities are continuing to examine CCTV footage, witness testimonies and other evidence to establish the sequence of events and determine individual responsibilities.

Who Is Roshan Anand?

Roshan Anand hails from Dhamsena village in Bihar’s Saharsa district and comes from a farming family. After completing his schooling, he moved to Patna and later Kota to pursue engineering entrance examinations. He secured admission to BIT Mesra after clearing AIEEE but was unable to continue his studies because of financial difficulties.

Following his return, Anand prepared for competitive examinations, including the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam. Although he did not secure a government job, he decided to enter the education sector and launched Gyan Bindu GS Academy in September 2017.

Starting with only a handful of students, the institute gradually expanded and built a reputation among aspirants preparing for Bihar Police, SSC, Railway and banking examinations. Over the years, Gyan Bindu Coaching emerged as one of the prominent coaching centres in Patna, helping Anand gain a significant following among students.

With his bail plea now rejected and student protests gathering momentum, the case is expected to remain at the centre of public attention in Bihar in the coming days.
