Bengaluru Infrastructure in Focus as Kiren Mazumdar-Shaw Meets Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar.
Biocon founder Kiren Mazumdar-Shaw met Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Tuesday, amid rising concerns over Bengaluru’s road conditions. The meetings came after Mazumdar-Shaw’s social media post highlighted a foreign guest’s unpleasant experience navigating pothole-ridden, garbage-strewn roads in the city, sparking debate online and drawing responses from the state administration.
Discussion with Deputy CM Shivakumar
Mazumdar-Shaw met Shivakumar to discuss Bengaluru’s growth, innovation, and infrastructure improvements. Sharing a photo of the meeting on X, Shivakumar wrote, “It was a pleasure to meet Kiren Mazumdar-Shaw. We had an engaging discussion on Bengaluru’s growth, innovation, and the path ahead for Karnataka’s growth story.”
Sources said the meeting was productive, with Shivakumar assuring that he would visit key areas and consult industry stakeholders to address road issues. He also reportedly advised Mazumdar-Shaw to avoid making controversial statements publicly.
Personal Visit to CM Siddaramaiah
Mazumdar-Shaw’s meeting with CM Siddaramaiah was described as a personal visit to invite him to a family wedding and extend Diwali greetings. No discussion on infrastructure took place during this meeting.
