PM Modi to Hold Virtual Dialogue with Bihar Youth, Launch Rs 62,000 Crore Initiatives.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will engage with the youth of Bihar today at 11 a.m., during which he will unveil major youth-focused initiatives worth over Rs 62,000 crore. The event will be held virtually, with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also in attendance.
Key Announcements
PM-SETU Scheme: The centerpiece of the announcements is the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM-SETU), a centrally sponsored scheme with an investment of Rs 60,000 crore. It aims to upgrade 1,000 government ITIs across India using a hub-and-spoke model (200 hubs, 800 spokes), emphasizing industry-relevant skill development.
Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Nishchay Svyam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana: Modi will also launch the revamped scheme providing a monthly allowance of Rs 1,000 for two years to five lakh graduates, supporting their transition from education to employment.
Education and Research Boost: The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur Skill University in Bihar, lay foundation stones for new academic and research facilities across four universities, and dedicate the new campus of NIT Patna in Bihta.
Nationwide Skill Development: As part of a nationwide initiative, Modi will inaugurate 1,200 Vocational Skill Labs in Navodaya Vidyalayas and Eklavya Model Residential Schools across 34 states and Union Territories.
Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh: The event will include a ceremony honoring top-performing ITI students from across India.
These initiatives aim to enhance skill development, boost employability, and strengthen higher education infrastructure in Bihar and across India.
