Love and star power lit up Venice this week as Bill Gates and his partner Paula Hurd made a stylish appearance at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s pre-wedding celebration.

The Microsoft co-founder and Hurd were seen arriving hand in hand at the exclusive welcome party held in a historic cloister beside the iconic Madonna dell’Orto church on Thursday. Gates opted for a timeless black suit paired with a crisp white shirt, while Hurd complemented him in a sleek off-the-shoulder black dress, accessorized with a sparkling necklace and stud earrings. The couple appeared relaxed and happy as they mingled with high-profile guests.

Their appearance comes nearly a year after they also attended Bezos and Sánchez’s engagement party aboard the billionaire’s yacht along the Amalfi Coast.

The event drew an elite crowd, including Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, Orlando Bloom, and several members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, including Kris Jenner, Corey Gamble, Khloé, Kendall, and Kylie, as well as Gayle King.

A Quiet but Growing Romance
Gates and Hurd’s relationship became public in early 2023, nearly two years after Gates’ divorce from Melinda French Gates. A source told People at the time that while their relationship was known, Hurd had not yet met Gates’ children.

Since then, the pair have slowly stepped into the spotlight. In April 2024, they made their red carpet debut at the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony in Los Angeles. Gates later confirmed the relationship during a February 2025 interview with Today show host Savannah Guthrie, calling Hurd his “serious girlfriend” and adding, “We’re having fun—going to the Olympics and lots of great things.”

Paula Hurd also earned a mention in Gates’ memoir Source Code: My Beginnings, where he thanked her as one of his close early readers, crediting her with offering “thoughtful and insightful feedback.”

As Bezos and Sánchez gear up for their nuptials, Gates and Hurd’s presence was a clear sign of how deeply embedded their relationship is in each other’s lives—and in the circle of tech and celebrity elites.
