Bill Gates will attend the AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, with the Gates Foundation confirming his participation and dismissing media reports suggesting otherwise as incorrect. Gates remains among the key participants, alongside prominent technology leaders such as Sam Altman and Sundar Pichai.

“Bill Gates is attending the AI Impact Summit. He will be delivering his keynote as scheduled,” a Gates Foundation spokesperson told Hindustan Times.

Separately, Gates praised Andhra Pradesh’s pace of development, noting that the state’s growth driven by AI and technology was encouraging.

Following his visit to Amaravati, Gates highlighted the state’s advances across multiple sectors.

“Thank you for the warm welcome, N. Chandrababu Naidu. It’s exciting to witness Andhra Pradesh’s growth being accelerated through AI, technology, and innovations across health, agriculture & education,” he wrote in a post on X.

During his engagements in the region, Gates participated in meetings with the chief minister and officials, reviewed technology-led governance initiatives, and visited local projects, including a banana orchard along the Krishna river bank in Undavalli village of Guntur district.

All about the India AI Summit

The event marks the first international AI summit of its scale to be hosted in the Global South, positioning India as a major hub for artificial intelligence collaboration and deployment.

The summit is designed as a national showcase of AI in action, bringing together policy, innovation, and large-scale implementation on a single platform.

The Expo spans 10 arenas covering more than 70,000 square metres and features participation from global technology companies, startups, academia, research institutions, Union Ministries, State Governments, and international partners.

Thirteen country pavilions highlight international cooperation in the AI ecosystem, with participation from countries including Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan, and several African nations.

More than 300 curated exhibition pavilions and live demonstrations are being organised across three thematic “chakras” — People, Planet, and Progress — reflecting AI’s cross-sectoral impact.

Over 600 high-potential startups are participating, many presenting globally relevant, population-scale AI solutions already deployed in real-world settings.

The Expo is expected to attract over 2.5 lakh visitors, including international delegates, while fostering global partnerships and business opportunities across the AI ecosystem.
