Carlos Alcaraz stormed into his first ATP Finals championship match with a dominant 6-2, 6-4 win over Felix Auger-Aliassime in Turin on Saturday, setting up a high-voltage title showdown with Jannik Sinner.
The victory came just a day after the Spaniard received the ATP Year-end No. 1 trophy, capping a remarkable week. Alcaraz was flawless throughout the 83-minute semifinal, never facing a break point and controlling play with his trademark mix of heavy hitting, quick transitions and deft touch at the net. A break at 3-1 put him in command of the opening set, which he took 6-2. In the second, a crucial break at 4-4 allowed him to serve out the match with ease.
“I felt like I could do everything on court,” Alcaraz said after the win. “That confidence pushed me through the whole match.”
The final now features the season’s undisputed top two players. Alcaraz leads Sinner 4-1 in their 2025 meetings (10-5 overall), while Sinner arrives with a 30-match indoor winning streak and the full roar of the home crowd behind him. Both players are unbeaten this week and have split all four Grand Slam titles in 2025, making Sunday’s clash one of the most anticipated of the year.
Alcaraz becomes the first Spaniard to reach the ATP Finals title match since Rafael Nadal in 2013 and will attempt to become the first from his country to win the season-ending trophy since Alex Corretja in 1998.
