India captain Vikramaditya Chaufla navigated a strong international lineup to win the Willingdon Indian Racketlon Open title.
Chaufla, a multiple World Championship medallist, held off compatriot Animesh Kejriwal in a closely fought B-category final, prevailing 21–18, 21–10, 10–21, 19–18. In the semifinals, he overcame an early deficit to defeat seasoned Russian player Dmitry Dubovenko 9–21, 21–16, 21–16, 21–17 in a demanding encounter.
Racketlon, a rapidly expanding sport, combines four racket disciplines — table tennis, badminton, tennis and squash — with players competing in all four.
The event, part of the international Super World Tour, was held alongside the World Tour Finals featuring the top eight men and women globally. It was organised by the Willingdon Sports Club with support from Ajoy Bhandare and Nikhil Bhandare, while RISA president KK Cheema and FIR chief Duncan Stahl contributed significantly to the success of the tournament’s second edition.
