Chirag Paswan Alleges Bomb Plot at Bihar Rally, Blames Political Rivals.
Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan made a sensational allegation during a rally in Bihar’s Munger district, claiming there is a conspiracy to assassinate him using a bomb. His remarks come ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in the state and just a week after his party flagged a death threat sent to him via social media.
Addressing supporters in Munger, Paswan launched sharp attacks on political opponents, including an indirect dig at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and a direct one at his estranged uncle, Pashupati Kumar Paras.
“Many people are rattled by my ‘Bihar First, Bihari First’ vision, which challenges their caste-based politics. These are the same people who kept Bihar backward for years and are now making hollow promises ahead of the elections,” said Paswan, the MP from Hajipur.
He accused his detractors of trying various tactics to derail him — from character assassination to threats.
“They couldn’t break me, so now they want to blow me up with a bomb. But they forget that Chirag Paswan is a tiger’s cub — he doesn’t bow down or get scared,” he said defiantly.
Party Responds to Bomb Threat Remark
While Paswan’s remarks drew sharp attention, leaders within the LJP (Ram Vilas) suggested that his statement may have been linked to a recent police complaint filed over an online death threat.
On July 11, party spokesperson Rajesh Kumar Bhatt lodged an FIR at Patna’s cyber police station against an Instagram user who allegedly threatened to bomb Paswan. The complaint described the threat as politically motivated and claimed the user was an RJD supporter, though it did not name any individual or party directly.
An LJP leader, speaking anonymously to PTI, said, “Chirag ji may have been referencing the recent FIR and used it to send a strong political message. It could be rhetoric, but the threat is being taken seriously.”
The police have yet to confirm any direct links between the threat and political entities. Meanwhile, Paswan continues to sharpen his rhetoric ahead of what promises to be a high-stakes electoral battle in Bihar.
