CJP’s Saurav Das Jokes About Kangana Ranaut: ‘She’s After My Life Because I Look Like Young Hrithik’
CJP’s Saurav Das responds to Kangana Ranaut, jokes: ‘Maybe she’s after me because I look like young Hrithik Roshan’
The exchange of barbs between BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut and Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leader Saurav Das has intensified, with Das responding to Kangana’s recent personal attacks in an interview with journalist Barkha Dutt on Mojo Story.
Kangana had earlier called Das “useless” and “unemployed” in an Instagram post. Responding to the criticism, Das struck a lighter tone before urging the actor-politician to engage in dialogue rather than personal attacks.
‘Maybe that’s why she’s after me’
Speaking about Kangana’s remarks, Das recalled how his friends reacted to the controversy.
“One of my friends said maybe she is after my life because I look a little like young Hrithik Roshan,” he said, in an apparent jibe at Kangana’s long-running public feud with actor Hrithik Roshan.
Das stressed that he harbours no personal resentment towards Kangana and believes disagreements should be resolved through conversation.
“The problem in this country is that people don’t talk anymore. There is less discussion, less debate. We should speak to each other with maryada (dignity),” he said.
Criticises Kangana’s remarks on Gen Z
The CJP spokesperson also took issue with Kangana’s comments targeting Gen Z, saying public figures should be mindful of the language they use.
“Be careful of your words. Don’t sound frustrated. It doesn’t sound like the words of a person who is mentally stable. Think before speaking about the future generation of this country. Ultimately, people cannot be disrespected in this manner,” Das said.
‘No ill will against Kangana’
Asked whether he would meet Kangana if she invited him for coffee, Das said he had no grudge against her or BJP leaders.
“We harbour no ill will against anybody, including BJP MPs and people in the government. We have always believed in dialogue,” he said.
The Hrithik Roshan reference
Das’s quip appeared to reference Kangana’s widely publicised dispute with Hrithik Roshan, one of Bollywood’s biggest controversies. The row erupted in 2016 after Kangana referred to Hrithik as her “silly ex” during an interview. Hrithik denied they had ever been in a relationship, leading to a prolonged legal and public battle that dominated entertainment headlines.
What Kangana had said
The latest response comes days after Kangana Ranaut launched a blistering attack on Das on Instagram. She mocked him for describing himself as a student at the age of 28, labelled him “useless” and “unemployed,” and said she had already won two National Awards by that age.
Kangana also criticised Gen Z protesters, calling them the “Generation Gutter” and describing their videos as “puke-inducing,” comments that sparked a fresh political and social media row.
