Coldplay Kiss Cam Gaffe Inspires Viral Game Featuring CEO-HR Romance Scandal.

What started as an awkward moment during a Coldplay concert has spiraled into a viral internet game—and a corporate headache. At Coldplay’s July 15 show in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the stadium’s “Kiss Cam” zoomed in on a couple who instantly recoiled, burying their faces and ducking in clear discomfort. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin tried to smooth it over with a joke—but the damage was already done.

The pair were soon identified as Andy Byron, CEO of Cincinnati-based tech firm Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the company’s head of HR. The moment was quickly dubbed the “Coldplay Canoodlers” incident online, as social media erupted with speculation and memes.

Now, their viral discomfort has been immortalized in a quirky browser-based video game.

Titled Coldplay Canoodlers, the game was created by internet artist Jonathan Mann, known for his daily songwriting streak on YouTube. In this tongue-in-cheek point-and-click game, players act as Kiss Cam operators tasked with spotting the infamous couple in a pixelated concert crowd. Upon finding them, the original awkward audio—including Martin’s live commentary—plays back.

Mann said the game was “vibe coded” using AI tools, adding a surreal layer to the satire. Players score 10 points each time they successfully identify the couple mid-canoodle. Though it’s not available on platforms like Steam, the game is already circulating widely online.

But while the game has amused the internet, the real-life implications are serious. Astronomer issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter):
“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability. The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter.”

Neither Byron nor Cabot has issued a public statement yet. But the saga of the “Coldplay Canoodlers” lives on—in viral clips, memes, and now, a pixelated parody game.
