Varun Dhawan Recalls Fun Moments with Diljit Dosanjh on ‘Border 2’ Sets
Actor Varun Dhawan, gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Border 2, has opened up about his enjoyable experiences working with Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh.
At a special event for the film on Tuesday, Varun shared anecdotes from the sets, revealing how close he had become with Diljit. “We used to play cricket together, work out together, have ice-cream together, and just have fun,” he said. “And I used to sing his songs to him… I don’t know why I did that sometimes, but when someone is your favourite singer, these things happen,” he added with a laugh.
Border 2 is a highly anticipated sequel to J. P. Dutta’s 1997 blockbuster Border, which depicted the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India–Pakistan war. The sequel aims to continue the original’s legacy with a large-scale patriotic drama that balances battlefield intensity with personal stories.
Sunny Deol, who portrayed Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri in the first film, is confirmed to return, providing continuity to the narrative. Directed by Anurag Singh, known for Kesari (2019), the film promises a blend of realistic war sequences and strong character-driven storytelling.
Produced under J. P. Dutta’s banner with major studio backing, Border 2 is expected to feature contemporary production values and a significantly higher budget, setting the stage for a grand cinematic experience.
