Delhi Man Allegedly Rapes Mother Twice, Claims She Has ‘Bad Character’

A 39-year-old man allegedly sexually assaulted his mother twice in Hauz Qazi, central Delhi, after accusing her of having a “bad character,” police said on Saturday. The complainant, accompanied by her 25-year-old daughter, approached Hauz Qazi police station and reported that her son, identified as Md Firoz alias Suhel, had attacked her multiple times this month.

“The woman said she had travelled to Saudi Arabia on July 25 with her husband, aged 72, and their daughter for pilgrimage. During the trip, her son allegedly called her husband, accusing her of having a ‘bad character’ and demanding that her husband return immediately to Delhi and divorce her,” a senior police officer said.

After the family returned on August 1, the accused allegedly assaulted his mother and tried to attack her again the next day. She then stayed temporarily at her elder daughter’s in-laws’ house for safety. “On August 11, when she returned home around 9.30 pm, her son allegedly forced a private meeting, locked her in a room, threatened her with a knife and scissors, and raped her,” the officer added.

Out of fear and shame, she did not report the incident immediately and slept in her daughter’s room. Around 3.30 am on August 14, the accused allegedly repeated the assault, after which she approached police. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS, and an investigation is underway. The accused is a graduate but unemployed, while the complainant is an illiterate housewife; her husband is a retired government employee.
