The couple, who wed in 2012, shared that the decision was “mutual and amicable” and emphasized that their daughters, Radhya and Miraya, would remain their top priority.

While Esha’s parents, Dharmendra and Hema Malini, refrained from public statements, reports claimed Dharmendra was deeply affected by the split. According to a source quoted by Bollywood Life, the veteran actor wished his daughter would rethink her decision. “No parent can be happy seeing their children’s family break apart. Dharmendra ji felt the kids would be impacted and hoped they might reconsider,” the insider said.

The source further added that Dharmendra wasn’t opposed to Esha’s choice but was saddened by its implications for the children, who are close to both sides of the family. “He strongly believes separation affects kids, and that’s why he wanted them to give it another try,” the insider noted.

Despite the emotional undercurrents, Esha and Bharat maintained in their joint statement that the split was handled with respect and maturity, asking for privacy as they moved forward.
