Best remembered for his iconic portrayal of Karna in B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharat, Dheer was cremated in Mumbai on October 15. The funeral saw the presence of several Bollywood and television stars, including Salman Khan, Dipika Kakar, and Shoaib Ibrahim, all of whom came to pay their final respects.

Hours before his father’s passing, Nikitin Dheer shared a poignant message on Instagram:
“Whatever comes, let it come. Whatever stays, let it stay. Whatever goes, let it go. As a Shiva bhakt, say ‘Shivarpanam’ and move on! He’ll take care! Very hard to do.”

Salman Khan pays tribute
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was also present at the funeral, dressed in an olive-green shirt and appearing sombre as he offered his condolences to the Dheer family. Salman shared a longstanding friendship with Pankaj Dheer, having worked together in films like Sanam Bewafa (1991) and Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge (2002).
Pankaj Dheer had previously battled cancer and had recovered, but the illness returned a few months ago. He was laid to rest surrounded by colleagues, friends, and family from both the film and television industries, leaving behind a legacy cherished by fans and peers alike.
