Emraan Hashmi Reacts to Awarapan 2 Teaser With Emotional Note: ‘It Has Never Been Just a Film’

Emraan Hashmi has shared a heartfelt message after the teaser of Awarapan 2 received an overwhelming response from fans, saying the film has remained an integral part of his life for nearly two decades.

The sequel, arriving 19 years after the 2007 cult classic Awarapan, has reignited nostalgia among audiences with the return of his iconic character, Shivam Pandit.

Emraan Hashmi Calls Awarapan More Than Just a Film

On Tuesday, the actor took to Instagram to post a collage featuring his look as Shivam Pandit from the original film alongside his appearance in the Awarapan 2 teaser. Reflecting on the emotional connection he shares with the character, Emraan wrote, “Awarapan has never been just a film for me — it’s been 19 years of carrying Shivam with me, wherever I went.”

Thanking fans for their unwavering support over the years, he added, “Thank you for rooting for him, for this grand and loving welcome, and for opening your hearts to everyone who’s joined the journey since. Watching this family grow with you has been the best part of all of this. #Awarapan2.”

Fans Celebrate the Sequel

The post quickly drew enthusiastic reactions from fans, many of whom expressed excitement about revisiting the world of Awarapan. What the Awarapan 2 Teaser Reveals

The teaser marks the return of Shivam Pandit, who was presumed dead at the end of the first film. It opens with a voiceover suggesting that some stories are guided by destiny, before showing Shivam visiting Aaliyah’s grave and confronting his inner demons through a series of emotionally charged and action-packed sequences.

The teaser ends with the powerful dialogue, “Iss baar ya to ye Awarapan khatam hoga ya main,” hinting at an intense new chapter in Shivam’s journey.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqi, Awarapan 2 also stars Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi. The film is slated for a theatrical release on August 14, 2026.
