Real Madrid Star Endrick Heads to Lyon on Loan Ahead of Christmas.
Brazilian wonderkid Endrick has completed a sensational loan move from Real Madrid to Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon. The 19-year-old will be eligible to feature for Lyon from January 1, when the transfer window opens, before returning to Madrid in June. Lyon playfully noted on social media, “This year Christmas falls on December 23rd,” highlighting the festive timing of the deal.
As part of the agreement, Lyon will pay half of Endrick’s wages, with no buy option included.
Born Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa in Taguatinga, Brazil, the striker began his career at Palmeiras and was hailed as a prodigy, drawing early comparisons to Pele. After moving to Real Madrid, he has struggled for regular playing time and will use the six-month loan to gain experience and showcase his talent on a bigger stage.
Lyon currently sit fifth in Ligue 1 with 27 points from 16 games, behind Lens, PSG, Marseille, and Lille. Real Madrid are second in La Liga with 42 points from 18 matches, four points adrift of Barcelona.
