Epstein’s ex recalls inviting him home when her daughter was 15, court hears

Newly released records from a US Justice Department investigation into Jeffrey Epstein have brought renewed attention to his continued social interactions.

After his 2008 conviction, including a 2010 email inviting him to a private home visit. The email was sent by Eva Andersson-Dubin, a former girlfriend and longtime associate of Epstein, two years after he pleaded guilty in Florida to soliciting a minor for prostitution and served a brief jail sentence. Epstein was also a registered sex offender at the time.

According to the documents, Andersson-Dubin wrote: “Come and visit next week, Celina will have five friends over.” At the time, her daughter Celina was believed to be 15 years old. The resurfaced correspondence has raised questions because it was exchanged after Epstein’s conviction and incarceration.

A Vanity Fair report previously noted that Andersson-Dubin and her husband, billionaire hedge fund manager Glenn Dubin, were among those who resumed contact with Epstein following his release from prison.

Court records show that in 2009, a year before the email, Andersson-Dubin wrote to Epstein’s probation officer acknowledging his conviction but stating she was “100% comfortable” with him being around her children. She later invited Epstein to a Thanksgiving dinner.

Eva Andersson-Dubin, born Eva Birgitta Andersson in Uddevalla, Sweden, is a former Ford model and Miss Sweden 1980. She later attended UCLA medical school and dated Epstein intermittently during the 1980s before marrying Glenn Dubin in 1994. Despite the end of their relationship, the two remained in contact for years.

Andersson-Dubin has consistently denied having knowledge of Epstein’s wider criminal conduct. After his arrest in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges, a spokesperson said the allegations were entirely at odds with the person she believed him to be.

“If they had known about such conduct, they would have cut off all contact and never allowed their children to be in his presence,” the statement said.

Maxwell trial testimony

Andersson-Dubin later testified as a defence witness at Ghislaine Maxwell’s 2021 sex trafficking trial. She told the court she did not take part in any sexual activity involving Epstein and Maxwell and said she did not recall meeting one of Epstein’s accusers.

When questioned about memory gaps, she said it was difficult for her to recall events from years earlier and that her family had noticed the issue.

She also testified that Epstein had what she described as an “uncle-like” relationship with her children, who referred to him as “Uncle F,” and said she and her husband were comfortable with that dynamic at the time.
