FBI Raids Ex-NSA John Bolton’s Home in Classified Documents Case.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Friday searched the Maryland home of former US National Security Adviser (NSA) John Bolton as part of an ongoing classified documents probe. The investigation, reportedly authorized by FBI Director Kash Patel, is tied to documents from Donald Trump’s first term as president. The inquiry was previously put on hold during Joe Biden’s administration but has now been reactivated.

Patel hinted at the move in a cryptic post on X, writing: “NO ONE is above the law… @FBI agents on mission.”

Bolton, who served as Trump’s NSA from 2018 to 2019, has long been accused by the former president of mishandling sensitive information in his 2020 memoir The Room Where It Happened. Trump unsuccessfully sought to block its release, claiming it violated a non-disclosure agreement.

The timing of the raid coincides with Bolton’s renewed criticism of Trump’s trade and foreign policy. Earlier this month, in an. he described Trump’s steep tariffs on India as “a mistake in the bilateral relationship” that risked pushing New Delhi closer to Beijing and Moscow.

Bolton also posted on X, arguing: “When Trump slapped tariffs on India for buying Russian oil, but not China which also purchases Russian oil, it may have pushed India further into the Beijing-Moscow axis. This lack of focus by the Trump Admin is an unforced error.”

Once considered a key figure in Trump’s national security team, Bolton has since become one of his most outspoken critics. His security clearance was previously revoked along with those of other former Trump aides.
