Fact Check: Viral Photos of Nayanthara With Shaved Head Are Digitally Altered

Nayanthara is currently in the spotlight with several major projects lined up, including Yash-starrer Toxic and her upcoming film with Salman Khan. Amid the attention surrounding her work, a set of viral images claiming to show the actor with a shaved head during a visit to Tirumala has surfaced online.

The pictures have sparked speculation that Nayanthara shaved her head at the temple ahead of the release of Toxic. However, the claim is false. The viral images have been digitally manipulated and do not show Nayanthara’s actual appearance during her temple visit.

Viral Bald Photos Are Edited

The images circulating on X appear to show Nayanthara at Tirumala with her head completely shaved. Several social media users shared the pictures while claiming that she had offered her hair at the temple. A closer look at the images, however, reveals signs of digital manipulation. The pictures appear to have been created or altered using AI, changing Nayanthara’s hair while retaining other details from the original photographs.

The viral posts therefore do not provide evidence that the actor actually shaved her head.

Did Nayanthara Shave Her Head at Tirumala?

There is no credible evidence to support the claim.

The original photographs are from Nayanthara’s Tirumala visit in April, when she travelled to the temple with her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. In the genuine photographs, Nayanthara can be seen with her hair intact. The manipulated versions retain several details from those images, including her outfit and earrings, but digitally remove her hair to create the appearance of a shaved head.

The viral claim that Nayanthara went bald at Tirumala ahead of Toxic is therefore misleading.

Nayanthara’s Upcoming Films

Nayanthara is set to appear next in Geetu Mohandas’ Toxic, which stars Yash in the lead role.

The film also features Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi. Backed by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 26. The actor is also part of director Vamshi Paidipally’s upcoming project with Salman Khan, currently known by its tentative title SVC63. The film is being produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations.

The project marks the first on-screen collaboration between Nayanthara and Salman Khan.

For now, the viral bald photographs should not be mistaken for genuine images of Nayanthara. The pictures circulating online have been digitally altered, while the original Tirumala photographs show the actor with her hair intact.
