MLC 2025: Finn Allen Blasts 151 off 51 Balls, San Francisco Demolish Washington in Opener.

Finn Allen delivered one of the most explosive T20 innings in history, smashing 151 off just 51 balls for the San Francisco Unicorns against Washington Freedom in the opening match of Major League Cricket 2025, held at Oakland Coliseum on June 13.

Allen’s knock featured 5 fours and a record-breaking 19 sixes, propelling San Francisco to a colossal 269/5 in 20 overs. The Kiwi opener reached his half-century in 20 balls, his century in a record 34 balls, and went on to register the fastest-ever 150 in T20 cricket, reaching the mark in just 49 deliveries.

He also set a new world record for the most sixes in a T20 innings (19), surpassing previous global highs.

Partnering with Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Allen added 88 runs for the third wicket in just 37 balls, helping San Francisco surge past 150 inside 12 overs.

Washington Start Strong, Then Collapse
In response, Washington Freedom made a promising start with openers Rachin Ravindra (42 off 17) and Mitchell Owen (39 off 20) putting up 80 runs in just 32 balls. But their innings unraveled quickly after Liam Plunkett dismissed Ravindra and Owen was run out.

Washington lost eight wickets for just 49 runs, folding for 146 in 13.1 overs, handing San Francisco a dominant 123-run win — the largest margin of victory in MLC history.

Rauf, Hassan Lead Bowling Brilliance
Haris Rauf (3/30) and Hassan Khan (3/38) were the standout bowlers, sharing six wickets between them and dismantling Washington’s middle and lower order. Allen was named Player of the Match for his historic innings, one that set the tone for what could be a thrilling MLC 2025 season.
