First Batch of Epstein Documents Released Under Trump Administration, Featuring Bill Clinton & Michael Jackson
Trump Administration Releases First Epstein Files, Featuring Bill Clinton and Michael Jackson
The US Department of Justice on Friday released the first batch of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein’s illegal activities, following the Epstein Files Transparency Act signed by President Donald Trump in November. The release includes nearly 300,000 pages, though many sections were heavily redacted to protect ongoing investigations and the privacy of victims.
While references to Donald Trump were limited, the files prominently feature former President Bill Clinton, along with celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Mick Jagger, and other public figures including Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, Kevin Spacey, and Richard Branson. The documents and images do not indicate wrongdoing, and several named individuals have denied involvement.
Photos show Clinton in social settings with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell in the 1990s and early 2000s. Clinton has stated he was unaware of Epstein’s criminal activities at the time.
The DOJ confirmed that more than 1,200 victim names were redacted. Trump’s appearances were limited to a photo of a check with his name, a copy of his book inside Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse, and flight manifests previously released.
The White House hailed the release as a step toward transparency, while lawmakers from both parties criticized the partial disclosure. Democratic leaders like Chuck Schumer and Ro Khanna said the release fell short of the law’s requirements, and Republican Thomas Massie, a key proponent of the transparency act, echoed concerns.
The DOJ is still reviewing additional documents for possible release while ensuring victim protection and ongoing investigations are maintained.
