Mohammad Siraj Slams Air India Express After 4-Hour Flight Delay
India fast bowler Mohammad Siraj vented his frustration against Air India Express on Wednesday night following a delayed flight from Guwahati to Hyderabad. Siraj’s flight IX 2884, scheduled to depart at 7:25 pm, was delayed by four hours with passengers receiving no clear updates. Taking to X, Siraj called it the “worst airline experience” and criticised the airline for poor communication.
“Even after repeated follow-ups, the flight kept getting delayed without any proper reason. Extremely frustrating,” he wrote, warning travellers to reconsider booking with the airline. Air India Express responded publicly, apologising for the inconvenience. The airline cited “unforeseen operational reasons” for the delay and said staff were assisting passengers with alternate arrangements.
Siraj was returning home after India’s 408-run defeat to South Africa, which sealed a 0–2 series loss—India’s second consecutive home Test whitewash following a 3–0 defeat to New Zealand. This marked India’s largest Test defeat by runs and South Africa’s biggest winning margin against them.
India will now prepare for the upcoming three-match ODI series starting November 30.
