Former Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar Seeks Resumption of Rajasthan MLA Pension.

Former Vice-President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar has applied to resume his pension as a former Rajasthan legislator, officials said. Dhankhar served as the Congress MLA for Kishangarh from 1993 to 1998 and had received a pension until July 2019, which was stopped after he became the governor of West Bengal.

Following his resignation as vice-president on July 21 due to health reasons, Dhankhar approached the Rajasthan Assembly Secretariat for reinstatement of his pension. Officials confirmed that the process has begun, and the pension will be effective from the date his resignation as vice-president was accepted.

In Rajasthan, a former MLA’s pension starts at ₹35,000 per month for a single term and increases with additional terms and age. Legislators over 70 get a 20% increase, making Dhankhar, now 74, eligible for ₹42,000 per month.
