Soldier Injured in Udhampur Encounter, 4 Suspected Jaish Terrorists Trapped.
An Army soldier was injured on Friday during a gunfight with suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces launched the operation in the Dudu Basantgarh heights, acting on specific intelligence, and trapped three to four terrorists.
The White Knight Corps confirmed on X that the operation is ongoing along the Doda-Udhampur border. Earlier reports of a simultaneous encounter in Kishtwar were later clarified as incorrect. The area has seen multiple clashes over the past year, including the elimination of top JeM commander Haider in June and the killing of an Army soldier in April in Basantgarh.
Separately, Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Counter-Intelligence unit conducted raids across seven districts in the Kashmir Valley, seizing weapons—including 20 Chinese hand grenades—digital devices, and documents. Officials said timely intelligence helped prevent a planned terror operation.
