Actor Salman Khan turned 60 on December 27, 2025, but his commitment to fitness continues to defy age. Known for his muscular physique and disciplined lifestyle, the Bollywood star remains a major inspiration for fitness enthusiasts across generations. His approach, centred on intense training, a protein-rich diet, and unwavering consistency, has helped him maintain peak physical condition even at 60.
Salman Khan’s fitness trainer, Rakkesh Uddiyar, shared insights into the actor’s workout and diet regimen in an interview with Live Mint earlier this year, revealing how the actor prepared physically for his latest film Sikander, released in March.
Salman Khan’s fitness routine
According to Uddiyar, Salman follows a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) approach, moving from one exercise to another with minimal rest.
“We start with one exercise and move to the next without stopping. The only rest he takes is while walking between exercises. This is an intense HIIT workout with no rest in between,” the trainer said.
Rather than lifting extremely heavy weights, Salman focuses on volume training. The short walks between exercises—around 30 seconds—serve as sufficient recovery time, making the workout both demanding and efficient.
Salman also believes in keeping workouts concise. “He feels a workout should be completed within 45 minutes to one hour, which is scientifically correct,” Uddiyar noted.
Certain habits are non-negotiable for the actor. He starts every day with fasted cardio and fits in weight training whenever possible, even during busy shooting schedules. “Skipping cardio or weights is not an option. He won’t sleep without completing his workout,” the trainer added.
Salman Khan’s diet
Complementing his training is a protein-rich diet, with Salman typically eating five meals a day. His diet is simple, balanced, and consistent.
The actor begins his day with a nutritious breakfast that includes porridge, eggs, and fruits. Lunch usually consists of home-style food, often featuring fish or chicken, reflecting his preference for familiar, wholesome meals over processed options.
Salman is mindful of portion control and food choices. “He eats some rice but prefers more vegetables. Salads are a priority,” Uddiyar said. When preparing for action sequences, the actor reduces his food intake around two months in advance and returns to his regular diet after shooting.
While Salman does enjoy occasional cheat meals like biryani, his daily calorie intake rarely exceeds 2,000 calories. “There is no strict diet plan. He’s simply a healthy eater,” the trainer said.
At 60, Salman Khan’s disciplined routine and consistency continue to set him apart, reinforcing his reputation as one of Bollywood’s enduring fitness icons.
