Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam’s ‘Haq’ Earns Glowing First Review Ahead of Release.
Emraan Hashmi is gearing up for the release of his next film, Haq, a courtroom drama inspired by the landmark Shah Bano case. Also starring Yami Gautam in the lead, the film is set to hit theatres on November 7. Ahead of its release, Haq has received its first review — and it’s already winning hearts.
Actor-producer Nikhil Dwivedi took to social media to share his thoughts on the film, writing, “#Haq is terrific!! Well done @suparnverma. @amritapndy, you should be proud of making this film. Dialogues by @reshunath compel you to clap in many places, but Haq is Yami Gautam & Yami Gautam is Haq. She is clearly one of the most superlative artists of our times. What a performance!! Watch this one.”
Reacting to his praise, Yami Gautam reshared the post, expressing gratitude. “This is the first feedback of Haq!!! I shall try & soak in the moment! Thank you, Nikhil, for your words…” she wrote.
Directed by Suparn S. Varma, Haq brings to life the real events surrounding the 1985 Supreme Court verdict in the Shah Bano maintenance case — a defining moment in India’s legal and social history. Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam portray the central figures in a fierce courtroom battle that explores faith, gender rights, and justice.
The film also stars Vartika Singh, Danish Husain, Sheeba Chadha, and Aseem Hattangady in key roles. Produced by Junglee Pictures in association with Vineet Jain, Vishal Gurnani, Juhi Parekh Mehta, and Harman Baweja, Haq promises to be a powerful and thought-provoking watch when it releases in theatres on November 7, 2025.
