Sonam Raghuvanshi Named Prime Accused in 790-Page Honeymoon Murder Chargesheet.

Sonam Raghuvanshi has been identified as the main accused in the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, in a 790-page chargesheet filed at the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Sohra Sub-Division Court. The chargesheet also names four others — Raj, Akash Rajput, Anand Kurmi, and Vishal Singh Chauhan — all in judicial custody. They have been charged under Sections 103(I) for murder, 238(a) for disappearance of evidence, and 61(2) for criminal conspiracy under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Raja and Sonam went missing on May 23, shortly after their wedding on May 11, while on their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Raja’s mutilated body was found in a gorge in Sohra on June 2. Sonam was later traced to Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and arrested by the Meghalaya Police SIT in June.

Police allege that Sonam conspired with Raj, who recruited three others to help carry out the murder. On June 26, officers recovered a country-made pistol, two magazines, and ammunition, reportedly purchased by Raj for a potential second murder attempt.
