Indore Woman Plotted Husband’s Murder Days After Wedding, Cited Intimacy Issues in Texts

Sonam Raghuvanshi, accused of murdering her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, had allegedly conspired with her lover to kill him just three days after their wedding, according to investigators.

Sources said Sonam was in regular contact with her lover, Raj Kushwaha, and had expressed discomfort with her husband’s physical advances. She also claimed to have emotionally distanced herself from Raja before their marriage and discussed plans to eliminate him shortly after tying the knot.

Premeditated Murder in Meghalaya
Sonam and Raja got married on May 10 in Indore and traveled to Cherrapunji, Meghalaya, for their honeymoon on May 21. Days later, Raja was found dead at the bottom of a gorge in a forested area, initially prompting a missing persons search. Local police later ruled out an accident, citing evidence of foul play.

Sonam surrendered in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, and reportedly confessed to hiring contract killers for the murder.

Four Arrested
Along with Kushwaha, three other suspects — Aakash Rajpoot, Vikas alias Vicky, and Anand — have been arrested for their alleged involvement.

Autopsy Report
A postmortem revealed multiple sharp injuries, including major wounds to the front and back of Raja’s head, confirming a violent death.
