India vs West Indies 2nd Test: Predicted XI and Key Questions – Will Bumrah Be Rested in Delhi?

7

India will look to wrap up a 2-0 series victory over the West Indies as the second Test gets underway at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi from October 10-14.

The Shubman Gill-led side delivered a commanding performance in the opener, winning by an innings and 140 runs. In the first Test, India’s batting was powered by centuries from KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja, while the bowlers—Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav—were instrumental in restricting the West Indies.

After such a dominant display, the team management is expected to retain most of the playing XI. The only concerns were Sai Sudharsan, dismissed for 7 (19), and Washington Sundar, who contributed 9* (13) and took two wickets. Assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate has confirmed that both players have full backing and will get another chance in Delhi.

The only potential tweak could be resting one of India’s frontline pacers—either Bumrah or Siraj—to manage workloads ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa in November. This could open the door for Prasidh Krishna to make his debut on home pitches.

India’s Predicted XI:
Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (c), Dhruv Jurel (wk), Ravindra Jadeja (vc), Nitish Reddy, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah/Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj
