Andhra’s Jahnavi Dangeti to Travel to Space in 2029 After Completing NASA Program.

Jahnavi Dangeti, a 23-year-old from Palakollu in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district, is set to make history by traveling to space in 2029. She recently became the first Indian to successfully complete NASA’s prestigious International Air and Space Program.

A graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Lovely Professional University, Jahnavi has been selected for a mission to the Titan’s Orbital Port Space Station, a U.S.-based private space initiative scheduled to launch in the next four years.

Jahnavi’s journey into the space sector began in her hometown, where she completed her intermediate education. Her parents, Srinivas and Padmasri, currently live in Kuwait. Driven by her passion for space, she has since built an impressive profile in STEM education and outreach.

She has spoken at multiple ISRO programs and delivered lectures at top institutes including various NITs. An active participant in analog astronaut missions and planetary science training, she has also trained in deep-sea diving to simulate zero-gravity environments.

Jahnavi’s scientific contributions include a provisional asteroid discovery through the International Astronomical Search Collaboration using Pan-STARRS data. She was also the youngest foreign analog astronaut and the first Indian selected for geology training with Space Iceland.

Among her many honors are the People’s Choice Award at NASA’s Space Apps Challenge and the ISRO World Space Week Young Achiever Award.

Her 2029 spaceflight will mark a major milestone—not only in her personal journey but also for India’s growing presence in the global space community.
