After Operation Mahadev, India Launches Op Shiv Shakti: 12 Top Terrorists Eliminated in 100 Days.

India has intensified its counter-terrorism efforts in Jammu and Kashmir following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year. In the last 100 days alone, security forces have killed 12 top terrorists, including six Pakistani nationals, in a series of high-impact operations across the Union Territory.

From Mahadev to Shiv Shakti: A String of Precision Strikes

The offensive began with Operation Mahadev, which targeted and eliminated the three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack. Days later, on July 29, the Army, CRPF, and J&K Police launched Operation Shiv Shakti, killing two more Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives—Suleiman, Afghan, and Jibran—in Srinagar’s Dachigam area.

Officials say these are just two of several focused missions being carried out across the region.

“Operations Are Ongoing Across J&K”

“It’s difficult to quantify the exact number of operations. All units are carrying out missions in their areas round the clock,” a security. In the week following the Pahalgam attack, four major operations were launched—mainly in South Kashmir’s Shopian and Pulwama districts. In mid-May, two more key missions were conducted. Three LeT terrorists were gunned down in Shopian’s Keller forest, followed by another three killed in Pulwama’s Tral area.

Over 100 Terrorists Killed Across Border in Op Sindoor

India’s offensive has not been limited to domestic soil. During Operation Sindoor between May 6 and 7, more than 100 terrorists were reportedly killed inside Pakistan by Indian forces. These strikes were based on precise intelligence regarding launch pad activity across the Line of Control.

Terror Infrastructure Still Intact in PoK

According to intelligence reports, around 42 launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) were active before the Pahalgam attack, housing between 110 and 130 terrorists. Within Indian territory, agencies estimate that 70–75 terrorists remain active in Kashmir, while another 60–65 are operating in the Jammu, Rajouri, and Poonch regions.
