IndiGo Plane Strikes Pole During Landing at Srinagar Airport; No Injuries Reported

An IndiGo aircraft operating a flight from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar came into contact with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole while being parked at Srinagar Airport on Friday morning, the airline said.

The incident occurred at around 9:02 am and involved IndiGo flight 6E 225. The aircraft, registered as VT-NOG, was being positioned at Bay No. 06 when it came into contact with the airport equipment.

IndiGo said all passengers and crew members were safe and that no injuries were reported. The passengers were deboarded safely using manual stairs following the incident.

The airline said the matter would be investigated by the competent authorities under the prescribed procedures. It stressed that the exact cause would be established only after the completion of the inquiry and that no conclusion has been reached so far.

Despite the incident, airport operations continued normally, with flight arrivals and departures proceeding as scheduled.
