Iran Warns Trump: Any Attack Will Be Treated as ‘All-Out War’

Iran has issued a stern warning to US President Donald Trump, saying any military strike on Tehran would be treated as an “all-out war”. The alert comes a day after Trump announced that a “big force” of US warships was heading to the Middle East.

A senior Iranian official told Reuters that the Ayatollah Khamenei regime would use everything at its disposal to counter what it calls a persistent US military threat. “This time, we will treat any attack—limited, unlimited, surgical, kinetic, whatever they call it—as an all-out war against us, and we will respond in the hardest way possible,” the official said.

The warning follows Trump’s earlier decision to scale back threats of military action after Tehran assured that detained protesters would not be executed. The protests, which erupted at the start of the year, have reportedly left over 5,000 dead, according to activists.

US Military Buildup
The US has sent the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln along with three destroyers equipped with Tomahawk missiles, and deployed a dozen F-15E fighter jets to the region, according to reports. Tehran is reportedly on high alert.

The Iranian official emphasized:
“A country under constant military threat from the US has no option but to ensure that everything at its disposal can be used to push back and restore balance against anyone who dares to attack Iran.”

Despite last week’s temporary easing of tensions, Iran has continued its war of words. A spokesperson for the armed forces vowed to “set fire to the world” if any action was taken against the Supreme Leader. Meanwhile, the IRGC commander warned the US and Israel, saying the force has its “finger on the trigger.”
