Lucknow Raid: Jaish-Linked Doctor’s Brother Detained, Phones, Knives and Digital Evidence Seized.
A coordinated operation by the Uttar Pradesh Police and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) at the Lucknow home of Parvez Ansari, brother of doctor Shaheen Shahid, led to the seizure of six mobile phones, three large knives, an international calling card, a computer, and other digital devices. Shaheen Shahid had been arrested earlier for her alleged involvement in the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM)-linked “white-collar” Faridabad terror module.
The raid is part of the ongoing investigation into the Red Fort blast, which took place just hours after the terror module was dismantled on Monday. Ansari, a teacher at Integral University, attempted to flee following his sister’s arrest but was apprehended and is now being questioned.
Officials said the mobile phones were reportedly used by Ansari to communicate with contacts in Jammu, while the international calling card was allegedly used to contact handlers abroad. Investigators also revealed that Ansari had devised a system to evade signal tracing, making it harder for authorities to track communications from his devices.
A computer with a secret disk, recovered during the search, is believed to contain critical digital evidence. Forensic teams are currently analyzing the data for further leads.
The three knives found in the house are under examination to determine whether they were intended for criminal activities. Ansari’s vehicle, registered in Saharanpur, was also seized, linking him to another terror suspect, Adil Ahmad, arrested on November 7 by Jammu and Kashmir Police. Adil, a resident of Anantnag, had been living in Saharanpur and working at Famous Hospital for six months.
As the investigation into the Red Fort blast continues, security operations and searches are underway across multiple cities in Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Saharanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Mathura-Vrindavan, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, and Aligarh.
