Bank Holidays in January 2026: No Major Closures This Week.

According to the RBI holiday calendar, there are no major bank holidays in India between January 5–12, 2026, except for the regular Saturday and Sunday closures. During these days, customers can continue using net banking, mobile banking, UPI, and ATMs, but cheque clearing and over-the-counter services under the Negotiable Instruments Act will not be available.

Next Bank Holiday
The next holiday falls on January 12 for Swami Vivekananda’s birthday (National Youth Day), but banks will be closed only in Uttar Pradesh.

Bank Timings
Most banks like SBI, Bank of India, and Punjab National Bank operate 10 am to 4 pm, while private banks such as ICICI, HDFC, Axis, Yes Bank, and Kotak Mahindra usually open 9:30 am to 3:30/4:30 pm. Bank of Baroda typically works 9:45 am to 4:45 pm or 10 am to 5 pm, and Canara Bank from 10 am to 3:30 pm.
