Jennifer Lopez Says Consistency Was Key to Preparing for ‘Office Romance’ Bikini Scene
Jennifer Lopez has revealed how she prepared for a bikini scene in her upcoming romantic comedy Office Romance, saying the secret was not a crash fitness plan but maintaining a healthy lifestyle year-round. The actress and singer stars alongside Brett Goldstein in the Ol Parker-directed film and recently spoke about the demands of filming scenes that put her fitness on display.
According to Lopez, preparation starts long before the cameras begin rolling.
“You know you’re going to be on screen, so you have to be prepared,” she told Extra. “It’s about working out, eating healthy, eating the right things and being consistent.” The 56-year-old, who has built a reputation for her disciplined approach to fitness, said consistency remains the foundation of her routine.
While Lopez appeared comfortable discussing the scene, her co-star Brett Goldstein admitted he felt considerably more pressure. The actor, widely known for playing Roy Kent in the acclaimed series Ted Lasso, joked about having to share a scene with one of Hollywood’s most recognisable stars.
“Of course I felt pressure,” Goldstein said. “I’m doing a scene with Jennifer Lopez.”
Beyond Office Romance, Lopez is also celebrating the unexpected resurgence of one of her biggest hits.
The singer recently reacted to the renewed popularity of On the Floor, her 2011 smash hit, after it featured prominently in an episode of the romantic drama series Off Campus. The episode included a recreation of Lopez’s iconic green Grammy Awards dress, worn by actress Mika Abdalla while dancing to the track.
The scene quickly gained attention on social media, helping introduce the song to a younger audience and even boosting its popularity years after its original release.
Lopez said she was thrilled by the response.
“I was blown away,” she said. “It was fantastic to see what happened with the song and how viral it became.”
The actress later teamed up with Abdalla for a TikTok video, a moment she described as particularly enjoyable.
Lopez also reflected on how the modern entertainment landscape allows older music to find new audiences through television, streaming platforms and social media. “It’s incredible that a song you made 15 years ago can suddenly be discovered by a whole new generation,” she said. “I think that’s one of the amazing things about music today.”
She also praised Off Campus, describing the series as smart, entertaining and emotionally aware despite its youthful and playful tone. For Lopez, the recent revival of On the Floor serves as a reminder that successful songs can continue to resonate long after their initial release, finding fresh life in unexpected ways.
