Mahakaal Mahakaali: Sanjay Dutt And Mouni Roy Face Off In Intense Devotional Track From The Bhootni

The Bhootnii, an upcoming action-horror-comedy starring Sanjay Dutt and Mouni Roy, is all set for a grand theatrical release on May 1.

Directed by Sidhaant Sachdev and produced by Deepak Mukut and Sanjay Dutt himself, the film promises an exciting mix of thrills, chills and humour.

Ahead of the release, the makers unveiled a powerful track from the film titled Mahakaal Mahakaali. Sung by Hansraj Raghuwanshi and composed by Shabbir Ahmed, the song is a tribute to divine strength. The video showcases Sanjay Dutt in a commanding avatar as a fierce devotee of Lord Shiva, taking on evil forces, played by Mouni Roy.

Sharing a short clip from the song on Instagram, the makers wrote in the caption, “The divine has descended. Feel the wrath, the rhythm, the roar. #MahakaalMahakaali from The Bhootnii — OUT NOW!”

Apart from Sanjay Dutt and Mouni Roy, The Bhootni also stars Sunny Singh, Palak Tiwari, and Aasif Khan in key roles.

Sharing a special anecdote about Mahakaal Mahakaali, Sanjay said in a statement, “The makers initially approached me for this song, and I had an instant connection with it. After a few chats, I was on board for the film. This is my favourite track from the Bhootnii since I’ve always been a Shiv Bhakt—it’s my tribute to the Almighty,” quoted Filmibeat.

Originally scheduled to release on April 18, The Bhootnii will now hit theatres on May 1, as announced by the makers on Tuesday.

Sharing a poster of the film on Instagram, Sanjay Dutt wrote, “Insaan mohabbat wali date fix kar sakta hai, bhootnii ke aane ki nahi… woh kab aayegi, kaise aayegi, yeh sirf wahi jaanti hai! Laga tha 18th April ko aayegi lekin ab aa rahi hai 1st May ko, taiyaar rehna! #TheBhootnii– in cinemas 1st May 2025!”

With the new release date, The Bhootnii will now face a major Bollywood clash at the box office with Ajay Devgn’s upcoming thriller Raid 2.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt will also be seen in director Aditya Dhar’s action-packed film Dhurandhar, alongside Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan and Arjun Rampal. The official release date for the film is yet to be announced.
