Malayalam cinema stalwart Sreenivasan passes away at 69

Veteran Malayalam actor and filmmaker Sreenivasan passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 69. According to PTI, he died at a private hospital in Kochi, where he had been admitted late on Friday night.

A native of Kannur, Sreenivasan had been living in Kochi for several years. During a career spanning more than four decades, he made significant contributions to Malayalam cinema as an actor, director, screenwriter, dubbing artist and producer.

He acted in over 200 films after making his debut with Manimuzhakkam in 1976, and went on to become one of the industry’s most respected creative voices. Sreenivasan is survived by his sons Vineeth Sreenivasan and Dhyan Sreenivasan, both actors.
