Manoj Bajpayee Slams Fake Video, Clarifies He Has No Political Affiliation Ahead of Bihar Elections.

Actor Manoj Bajpayee has strongly condemned a doctored video circulating online that falsely suggested his support for a political party ahead of the Bihar elections. The clip was actually a manipulated version of an old Prime Video India advertisement.

On X (formerly Twitter), Bajpayee clarified, “I would like to publicly state that I have no association or allegiance with any political party. The video being circulated is a fake, patched-up edit of an ad I did for @PrimeVideoIN. I sincerely appeal to everyone sharing it to stop spreading such distorted content and urge people not to engage with or encourage such misleading content.”

Social media users quickly reacted, noting the growing need for celebrities to protect their personal image online. One user commented, “This is why celebrities are moving courts to protect their ‘personality rights’,” while another suggested, “Time to follow Akshay, Abhishek, and Aishwarya’s lead, trademark that face and voice.”

Several high-profile actors have recently taken legal action to safeguard their personality and publicity rights. Hrithik Roshan, for instance, secured legal protection against the unauthorized commercial use of his persona. Other stars who have acted to protect their image include Karan Johar, Suniel Shetty, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Akshay Kumar.
