Sensex Dips 255 Points, Nifty Falls Below 26,150; Titan Surges Nearly 4%
Benchmark indices opened lower on Wednesday as geopolitical tensions and sectoral losses dampened investor sentiment. Early declines in the auto sector contributed to the overall weakness.
The S&P BSE Sensex dropped 255.21 points to 84,808.13, while the NSE Nifty50 fell 72.90 points to 26,105.80 by 9:47 am.
Market Outlook:
Dr. VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Investments, said:
“The market lacks a clear trend. A few mega stocks are disproportionately influencing indices. For instance, yesterday, despite institutional buying, Nifty slipped 71 points due to sharp declines in Reliance and HDFC Bank.”
