Lionel Messi’s India tour got an unexpected extension after a personal invitation from Anant Ambani.

The football icon, accompanied by Luis Suárez, Rodrigo De Paul, and other members of the G.O.A.T. India Tour entourage, traveled to Jamnagar to visit Vantara, the wildlife rescue and conservation centre, where they were warmly hosted by Ambani.

The Jamnagar visit followed the official conclusion of the G.O.A.T. India Tour 2025 in New Delhi, the finale of a four-city journey that also included Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.

In Delhi, Messi’s appearance transformed the Arun Jaitley Stadium into a sea of Argentina jerseys and banners. Despite a brief weather-related delay, thousands of fans created a festive atmosphere, making it a memorable closing chapter. Unlike the crowded Kolkata leg, Delhi offered a smoother experience for fans and organizers alike.

Addressing supporters, Messi expressed gratitude for the warmth and enthusiasm he received and shared his hope of returning, ideally to play a match in India. While the stadium celebrations ended in Delhi, the visit to Vantara extended Messi’s journey in the country, highlighting his interest in wildlife and conservation beyond the football field.
