Bill and Hillary Clinton to Testify Before House Committee in Epstein Probe.
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have agreed to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking network. The decision avoids a looming confrontation with Congress, which had been preparing to hold the couple in criminal contempt.
The subpoenas, issued in August 2025, were originally scheduled for January, but the Clintons did not appear. On February 2, Clinton deputy chief of staff Angel Ureña confirmed on X that the couple would cooperate, saying they “negotiated in good faith” and “look forward to setting a precedent that applies to everyone.”
Bill Clinton’s photos appear in decades-old Epstein files released by the Department of Justice, showing him at social events with Epstein. Ureña emphasized that Clinton had ended ties with Epstein long before his crimes came to light. The former president has never been accused of wrongdoing by survivors and denies knowledge of Epstein’s offenses.
This will be the first time a former U.S. president has testified before Congress since Gerald Ford in 1983. House Oversight Chairman James Comer stressed the bipartisan nature of the subpoenas and the importance of accountability, while the Clintons have criticized the process as politically motivated.
