‘No Longer 28’: Zelenskyy Plans Discussion with Trump After Geneva Talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday said Geneva talks with US and European officials produced a streamlined and more practical set of proposals to end Russia’s nearly four-year invasion, but significant challenges remain.

The discussions focused on a US-drafted 28-point peace plan, which was revised to include “fewer points” and “many of the right elements,” Zelenskyy said in a post on X. He stressed that Ukraine must continue working “with dignity” to finalise the framework.

Zelenskyy confirmed he will discuss the most sensitive issues directly with US President Donald Trump. “This is indeed the right approach,” he said, adding that Ukraine will never obstruct peace and that millions of Ukrainians are counting on a “just and dignified peace.”

He warned that Russia is trying to derail negotiations through disinformation and intimidation, and urged international partners to take threats seriously, including potential missile or air-strike escalations.

The Ukrainian leader also held coordination calls with European leaders and highlighted strong global support after attending the Crimean Platform summit in Sweden, where over 70 delegations reaffirmed backing for Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
