Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated sequel Jailer 2 is steadily moving towards its planned mid-2026 release.
And the film has now added a high-voltage surprise to its lineup. Actress and dancer Nora Fatehi has reportedly completed a special dance number for the film, which was recently shot in Chennai.
Nora Fatehi Wraps Chennai Shoot, Calls Project ‘Epic’
A video circulating on social media shows Nora Fatehi exiting the shoot location soon after wrapping the song. While she stopped short of officially naming the film, her excitement was evident as she hinted at the scale of the project.
“Today was the last day. It was amazing, we had a blast. We shot something really, really amazing — something truly epic,” Nora said, joking about being worn out by early morning call times. She also confirmed that she could not reveal details of her costume, further fuelling curiosity around the sequence.
The appearance marks Nora Fatehi’s first collaboration with Rajinikanth, making the special number one of the most talked-about additions to the sequel.
Following Kaavaalaa’s Viral Footsteps
The original Jailer (2023) featured Tamannaah Bhatia in a special appearance, with the song Kaavaalaa — composed by Anirudh Ravichander — becoming a global viral hit. Nora Fatehi’s inclusion signals that the makers are once again banking on a standout dance number to boost the sequel’s pop culture appeal.

Beyond Jailer 2, Nora Fatehi is set for a significant career milestone in Tamil cinema. She will make her debut as a leading actress in Kollywood with Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana 4, where she plays a co-lead alongside Pooja Hegde.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 continues the action-comedy universe established by the 2023 blockbuster. Rajinikanth reprises the lead role, with several high-profile appearances expected from stars including Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi, Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty.
The film is currently in production and is expected to hit theatres around August 2026, positioning it as one of the biggest Tamil releases of the year.
