Nearly eight months after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against seven accused, including five individuals.
And two Pakistan-based terror outfits — Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and The Resistance Front (TRF) — for their role in the attack that left 26 people dead. The chargesheet lays out a Pakistan-backed conspiracy, detailing the roles of the accused, their handlers, and the support network that enabled the strike. The NIA has accused LeT and its proxy TRF of planning, facilitating and executing the Pahalgam attack.
According to the agency, Sajid Jatt, a senior LeT commander, acted as the main handler of the operation. He has been named in the 1,597-page chargesheet, which outlines evidence including communications, operational planning, and links between the attackers and their Pakistan-based controllers.
The document highlights the involvement of cross-border terror networks and traces the attack from planning and recruitment to its execution on the ground.
