Paresh Rawal clears the air on Hera Pheri 3 delay: ‘Nothing to do with me’

Paresh Rawal has addressed the ongoing speculation around Hera Pheri 3, putting rumours of a stalled shoot to rest. In an interview with The Lavari Show, the veteran actor confirmed that the third installment of the cult comedy franchise will “definitely” be made, but clarified that the delay is not his responsibility.

Rawal said the hold-up stems from a technical issue between Akshay Kumar and the film’s makers, dismissing reports of legal trouble. Addressing exaggerated claims of being sued for Rs 25 crore by Kumar, he remarked:

“All this about Akshay suing me for Rs 25 crores — that’s blown out of proportion. It’s like kachva chaap agarbatti.”

He added that once the matter between the producer and Kumar is resolved, he is ready to sign on for the project.

Babu Rao is irreplaceable

On reprising his iconic role of Babu Rao, Rawal stressed that Hera Pheri 3 cannot work without him.
“Even at the cost of modesty, if they go ahead without Babu Rao, it will be a disaster,” he said.

Reiterating his commitment, Rawal concluded:
“If it gets resolved between the two, I will sign the papers. It will happen 100%.”

Fans of the franchise are eagerly awaiting the reunion of Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Suniel Shetty), and Babu Rao (Paresh Rawal). The original Hera Pheri (2000) became an instant hit, and its sequel Phir Hera Pheri (2006) carried forward the comic misadventures of the beloved trio.
