Sunny Leone on Pink Lips Going Viral Again: “I Want to Meet the Person Who Revived It”

Sunny Leone’s 2014 chartbuster Pink Lips is trending again — this time thanks to Instagram Reels. The sudden resurgence of the song from Hate Story 2 has taken even Sunny by surprise.

“I had no idea it was blowing up until my manager pointed it out while we were travelling. I asked, ‘Why? What happened?’” Sunny recalled. “When I finally saw the Reels, I was amazed. I’m so happy it’s back on everyone’s playlist and people are enjoying it.”

The viral moment took Sunny back to the challenging shoot. “Rehearsals were tough and sometimes frustrating. But the choreography was cool, and everything came together beautifully on set. I never imagined it would go viral again after all these years. I really want to find whoever brought it back — just to say thank you.”

Sunny, known for hit songs like Baby Doll (Ragini MMS 2) and Laila Main Laila (Raees), says she’s proud of how her songs have stood the test of time. “One of my first was Laila from Shootout at Wadala, and I remember John Abraham telling me, ‘People will be dancing to this forever.’ I didn’t get it back then, but now I do. It still feels great every time I hear these songs.”

She also reflected on how song promotions have changed over the years. “Earlier, releasing a song was a massive deal — sometimes, a film’s fate depended on it. But lately, even amazing songs disappear quickly. I hope the new generation of artists gets the same love and hype that we did. I miss the excitement people used to feel about film music.”
