PM Modi to Launch ₹11,000 Crore Highway Projects in Delhi to Boost Connectivity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two major highway projects in Delhi on Sunday, developed at a combined cost of nearly ₹11,000 crore. The projects—the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and a stretch of the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II)—are designed to reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity across the National Capital Region (NCR).

The inauguration will take place at 12:30 pm in Rohini, where PM Modi will also review the projects. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, and other officials will be present.

Project Highlights

Dwarka Expressway (Delhi section): 10.1 km stretch costing ₹5,360 crore, linking Shiv Murti to Dwarka Sector-21 and extending to the Delhi-Haryana border. Connects Yashobhoomi, Delhi Metro’s Blue & Orange lines, Bijwasan railway station, and Dwarka bus depot.

UER-II (Alipur–Dichaon Kalan stretch): ₹5,580 crore project with new links to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, aimed at diverting traffic from inner and outer Ring Roads and easing congestion at key junctions like Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan, and NH-09.

Traffic Advisory
Delhi Traffic Police has issued restrictions in West Delhi and Rohini from 6 am to 2 pm on Sunday. Movement will be restricted on UER-II, Rohtak Road (Peeragarhi–Tikri Border), Bhagwan Mahavir Road, Bawana Road, Kanjhawala Road, Kanjhawala Link Road, and Badsha Dahiya Marg. Heavy and commercial vehicles will face diversions at key points. Commuters are advised to plan ahead and use the Delhi Metro wherever possible.

The projects are expected to significantly enhance mobility, reduce travel time, and support industrial and goods movement in the NCR.
